Day 1:Chengdu Panda Base& Wenshu Monastery& Kuanzhai Alley
Morning (09:00–12:00)
Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Centre:
It has been constructed and imitated the pandas' natural habitat in the hope that they could have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding. There you can see pandas almost in their natural environment as they have plenty of space around them. They are incredibly cute to watch and spend most of their day eating bamboo.
Afternoon (13:00–17:00)
Wenshu Monastery:
Afternoon drive to the Wenshu Monastrery, the best-preserved Buddhist temple in Chengdu, and also serves now as the home of the Buddhist Association of both Sichuan Province and Chengdu City. Cultural relics are the highlights of Wenshun Monastery.
Kuanzhai Alley:
Then move to the Kuanzhai Alley, literally means "Wide and Narrow Alleys" (Kuan Zhai Xiang Zi). Here they particularly referred to the two famous lanes in Chengdu – Kuan Alley (wide lane) and Zhai Ally ( narrow Lane). Both Kuan Alley and Zhai Alley (Kuan Zhai Xiang Zi) are the gentrified ancient alleys from Qing Dynasty ( 1644 -1911 ) in Chengdu.
Day 2: Dujiangyan Dam & Mt.Qingchengshan
Morning (09:00–12:30)
Duanjiangyan:
First drive to the Duanjiangyan, located about 60km west of Chengdu. Dujiangyan is an ancient irrigation project in China, built about 2000 years ago. Now it is still in use. It is located in the middle part of Minjiang River, the largest tributary of Yangtze River. The project effectively put the flooding waters under control.
Afternoon (13:30–17:00)
Mt.Qingchengshan:
Afternoon move on to Mt.Qingchengshan. Together with Dujiangyan, Mt.Qingcheng is listed as World Cultural Heritage. It is about 16 kms away from Dujiangyan, 65 km west of Chengdu. Qingcheng Mountain is one of the top 10 Taoist mountains in China. It is about 2400 meters high above the sea-level. Qingchengshan Mountain (Qingchengshan) is one of the ancient cradles of Taoism. The mountain has many Taoist temples and palaces along the paths leading to its peak. The mountain is green all year round and known for its secluded tranquility.
Day 3: People’s Park & Qingyang Taoist Palace & Temple of Marquis
Morning (09:00–12:30)
People's Park:
First have a stroll around People's Park,the most popular park in Chengdu. People's Park provides tourists an opportunity to have a glimpse of the leisure city of Chengdu. It is a great public outlet for joggers, tai qi enthusiasts, gamers, musicians, tea drinkers and grandparents with their grandchildren in tow.
Then visit Qingyang Taoist Palace (also called Qingyang Taoist Temple). "Qingyang" literally means "green ram". So the Qingyang Temple got its popular name from the two blue-green goats made of bronze in the Sanqing main Hall in the temple. The Qingyang Gong Daoist Temple has been famous as "No 01 Taoist Temple in Sichuan" and "No.01 Temple in West China". Now It is a famous tourism and sightseeing attraction of Taoist cultural heritage.
Afternoon (13:30–17:00)
Temple of Marquis:
After lunch, continue to visit Temple of Marquis ( also called Wuhou Shrine ),first built in memory of Zhuge Liang (181 – 234), the prime minister of Shu ( 221 – 263 ) of the Three Kingdoms ( 220 – 280). Zhuge Liang was a famous statesman, military strategist. He was also given the title of Marquis Wuxiang in his lifetime. "Wuhou" literally means "Wuxiang Marquis". Now Wuhou Shrine is more than a shine. Instead, it has become a museum, the largest museum in China displaying the relics and introducing the history about the Three Kingdom.
Jinli Street:
Finally have a walk along Jinli Street. The Jinli Old Street is located just next door to Wuhou Shrine. Actually Jinli Street is part of the Wuhou Shrine Museum. It has become a major tourist attraction in Chengdu, attracting a great number of travelers each each year, which boasts of ancient buildings, traditional cultures, local food and customs.
